Of Roots and Ways: Doming Lam Archive Exhibition | 尋根與突破 : 林樂培檔案展

After the passing of Dr. Doming Lam, the revered “Father of Hong Kong New Music,” his daughter, Miss Kathy Lam, donated his extensive archive to HKU’s Special Collections. This collection includes drafts, letters, manuscripts, and photographs offering deep insights into Dr. Lam’s life and work. The Department of Music, Special Collections, and HKU MUSE collaborated to curate an exhibition showcasing selected treasures from his archive, providing a peek into our cherished collection and a unique glimpse into his contributions. A standout feature of the exhibition highlights carefully selected pages from Dr. Lam's meticulously crafted albums. Filled with precious photographs, press clippings, and his personal annotations, these albums serve as a gateway to the past, providing readers with a vivid experience of Dr. Lam's significant life events. They represent invaluable firsthand accounts with profound historical and biographical significance.

香港新音樂之父林樂培博士辭世後，他的女兒林家琦小姐將其遺物贈予港大圖書館特藏部，當中包括草稿、信件、手稿、照片和其他寶貴的物品，都是了解林博士生平和藝術成就的重要資料。港大音樂系、港大圖書館特藏部及港大繆思樂季攜手籌辦是次展覽，藉著林博士檔案中的部份精品，讓普羅大眾能一窺這個我們引以為傲的收藏，並了解林博士的非凡成就。展覽的一大亮點是林博士精心製作的幾本相冊中的精選頁面。這些相冊包括大量寶貴的照片、剪報，以及林博士的親筆註解，猶如打開一扇時光之門，讓讀者親歷其境感受林博士珍而重之的生平事件，是極具歷史及傳記意義的第一手資料。
